Getting Here and Away

Getting to and from Aspen is easy with year round air service to its local airport.  Alternatively, you can fly into Eagle/Vail Airport or Denver International Airport.

Aspen Airport

Aspen is fortunate to have its own airport just minutes outside of town that is serviced by several major airlines, including United, Delta and Frontier. Daily flights are available, with typically more options available in the busier summer and winter seasons.  Fly into Aspen airport and then it's just a few minutes drive to your Aspen real estate dream home.

Passenger services inside the terminal building include: full service restaurant and bar; courtesy phones; rest room facilities; gift shop; public telephones; vending machines; newspaper racks; lockers; airport administration offices; various ground transportation providers; and five rental car agencies.

Eagle/Vail Airport

Just 68 miles from Aspen, the Eagle County Aiport offers a convenient alternative to the Aspen airport.  In the winter there are daily direct flights from 12 major US cities on several major airlines.  Come summer you can fly into Eagle from Denver, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Chicago.

Passenger services include free wireless Internet, rest rooms, coffee shop/deli, ground transportation providers, rental car agencies and newspaper racks.  Also, parking is free for up to 30 days!

Denver International Airport

Denver International Airport provides nonstop daily service to more than 130 national and international destinations.  It is served by most major airlines and is open 24 hours a day.  Located North east of the city of Denver on Pena Blvd, Denver International Airport is a short flight to Aspen or  a four hour drive on average.

The most frequently travelled route takes you west on I-70 to Glenwood Springs for 170 miles where you meet Hwy 82 for the remaining 40 miles to Aspen.   Major passes along the route include Vail Pass and Eisenhower Tunnel.  Check for road condition updates during periods of inclement weather as the road does close from time to time.

In the summer,  you can take the more scenic route over Independence Pass. Take I-70 to Minturn.  Turn off onto Hwy 24 towards Leadville and then head west on Hwy 82 over Independence Pass.  The final stretch into Aspen is on a windy road so drive carefully and use the pull-offs for scenic viewing.

Should you prefer not to drive, ground transportation to and from Aspen is provided by Colorado Mountain Express.
