David Pisor, CEO of Chicago-based Elysian Worldwide, LLC and owner of the Hotel Jerome in Aspen issued a confirmation that the Main Street landmark is not for sale.  The statement came after the Aspen Daily News published a public notice that said the interests of LCP Elysian Aspen Owner LLC, would be sold at auction in New York on Monday.  The public notice states that the auction is the result of Elysian defaulting on their loan from Brockman Aspen LLC.

The Town of Snowmass Village is starting to crack down on short term rental taxes.  Homeowners renting their property for less than thirty days owe 12.98% of their revenue to the town.  The tax disbursement is as follows: 2.4% for marketing, .5% for RFTA, and 9.9% go to sales tax.  Town council members are noticing a large number of local rental listings on various Internet sites.  The focus on this tax is in part due to the declining sales tax revenues for the town.  Reports state that tax revenues are down 16.16% through May.
