Seasons of Change

May 8, 2008

One constant change in the Roaring Fork Valley is the weather.   Today I woke up to a springtime rain squall and as I drove into Aspen the rain transitioned into blizzard like snow.  The accumulation was minimal, but no matter how many years you have lived here, it is always a surprise to go from 70 degrees and sunny to 37 degrees and snowing within the same work week.  Having lived here for over 20 years, I have grown to appreciate the transitional seasons.  This is a time to regroup and prepare for the next busy season ahead, which happens to by my favorite.  Summers in Aspen are such an incredible experience.  From Sunday afternoons of cheese and wine with friends at the Music Tent to evening around the backyard fire pits and bbqs, Aspen is one of the most amazing destinations to spend the summer months.
